Solution: Removing a Jam at the Tray

Removing a Jam at the Tray

  1. Remove the tray from the printer.
  2. Step 1

  3. From under the printer, push the green tab (front duplex jam access tab) downward to reveal jammed paper.
  4. Step 2

  5. Remove jammed paper.
  6. Gently release the green front duplex jam access tab.
  7. Reinsert the tray.
  8. Step 3

  9. Open and close the top cover.
  10. Step 4

Solution: Loading Tray 1 (MPT)

Loading Tray 1 (MPT)

Load only supported media in Tray 1 (MPT).

  1. Open Tray 1 (MPT) by pushing the handle down and out.

  2. Slide the extender toward you until it locks into place.

  3. Adjust the paper guides to match the size of the paper, transparency, or other specialty media.

  4. Fan the media to release any sheets that are stuck together.
  5. Fan Paper

  6. When prompted at the front panel, insert enough sheets of the paper, transparency, or other specialty media for your print job into the tray.
  7. Load MPT

  8. Place the side to be printed faceup with the top of the page entering the printer first.
  9. If necessary, press the guides inward to match the size of the paper.
  10. Press the OK button.

Tray 1 (MPT) detects the paper and prints the page.

Load only supported media in Tray 2 or 3.

  1. Open the tray by sliding it out of the printer.

  2. Adjust the paper guides to match the size of the paper, transparency, or other specialty media.

  3. Fan the media to release any sheets that are stuck together.
  4. Fan Paper

  5. When prompted at the front panel, insert enough sheets of the paper, transparency, or other specialty media for your print job into the tray.
  6. Load Trays

  7. Place the side to be printed faceup with the top of the page entering the printer first.
  8. If necessary, press the guides inward to match the size of the paper.
  9. Press the OK button.
